Cineworks was one of the key short film strands for New Talent in Scotland and Kelpie Media produced 3 films. Historical Drama, The Mermaid, told the story of a man who fell in love with a mermaid but suffered an untimely death at her hands. Homeland, was a drama which used a unique timeline to reveal the crimes committed by a father and the effect it had on his son. Cannonman, which was nominated for BAFTA, was a beautiful stop frame animation in a Vaudeville style which told the story of an unfortunate circus performer trapped in a horrid relationship with the Bearded Lady longing to escape the circus to run away with his childhood sweetheart.
