Balfour Beatty: Ravenscraig Health and Safety DVD
Balfour Beatty has commissioned Kelpie Media to produce a site specific induction film for their staff and sub-contractors on the biggest Civil Engineering project in Britain.
Balfour Beatty won the contract for the first phase of this 800 million pound project to regenerate the old Ravenscraig steelworks site on the South East of Glasgow. The project will take up to twenty years to complete and when finished will include housing, retail and leisure facilities to rival anywhere in Britain.
Kelpie Media was commissioned to produce a bespoke Health and Safety film because of the size, scale and the unique requirements of the site. The finished film will include detailed information such as the correct procedures when using plant, working in excavations, the correct PPE to wear depending on your task as well as information on the important environmental aspect of this groundbreaking project.
After extensive consultation with the client we embarked on a three day shoot which was followed by a post-production period which included editing, voiceover recording and graphics and animation production. The final project will be delivered at the start of June.
"The DVD has been well recieved by both operatives and senior members of staff and we wish to use this style and quality of induction presentation on future projects of this size."
Russel Rennie, Director, Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering
